Unhappy RIP Richard Curtis

Sadly Richard Curtis passed away earlier today, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was one of the nicest people I have met, and he was always very generous with his time.

I was aware he had a long history at USA Today, but I had no idea how important and influential he had been: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...es/6965230001/

I had the honor of working Tech with Richard for well over a decade. He will be missed. A lot.

All around great guy. He was our DV editor and designer for a very long time as well. Richard and I had been emailing over the course of his illness. I last saw him in person at Intersport Ashburn's grand opening party.

He will be missed. LOVELY HUMAN BEING - SO KIND.

Sad, sad news. Richard was absolutely, genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever met. I always looked for him at tech inspections to chat for a bit because he was just incredibly warm and pleasant to talk to.

The world is a lesser place with his passing. A true gentleman and all around nice guy. His hand on Der V was amazing.
Just a day ago I was talking with my daughter about Richard. She asked about the fantastic images Mike Madrid posts and that opened up the conversation about he and Richard working for USA Today. Heaven’s news letter just got a lot better I bet.

Terribly sad news. My condolences to his family and friends. Ed and I just mentioned him last week. The tribute on USA Today is fitting. I was lucky enough to help out with some photos when he was the DV editor. Despite being average he encouraged me with cheerful and helpful advice. I also recall is detailed posts on his 964 updates.

I never spoke of his key role at USA Today. Speaks to the humble man he was.
He will certainly be missed...

So sad. He'll be missed by many.

I'm trying to find a good photo of him with a Porsche(s) to include in the next issue of DV - if anyone has one they are happy to share, please connect with me here, or via dveditor@pcapotomac.org
