Default Spot the problem

About 2 months ago I had the left front boot replaced. Last night while turning right I heard a loud "bang!" and the clicking noise from the same wheel, like I had cards in the spokes. This was accompanied by additional occasional bangs which increased in both frequency and intensity as I limped away from the spot.

Can you "spot the problem"?

Bonus points if you correctly guess the make and model.

Torqueing the bolts is over-rated...

So is checking the torque after 100 miles. YMMV...

Now that you say this, do I see a hole missing a bolt, where a bolt should be? How would this account for the sounds?

Should I have been scheduled for a follow up to check the torque? If so they never informed me or offered an appointment.

They will never have you go back for a torque-check. But in the early days of Dorki, when there was loads of DIY work going on, there were many stories about bolts loosening and how a check after some miles is good insurance.

And yes, at least one bolt is now completely missing. Call the shop that did the work; they owe you a good inspections, and at a minimum a new round of bolts.

Whelp, I had a bad experience getting this done, so I've already taken it to a different shop knowing I might have to pay twice.

Surely this isn't just a round of new bolts and grease? Something got hosed pretty bad here maybe, yes?

Maybe. Could have messed up the screw holes. Hopefully only issue was the screws coming loose, though.

Well my fingers are crossed then! Thanks for the look-see.

I'll post an update once the shop has had a chance to look it over.

One of the keeper plates is flopping around the other loose bolt

yup. one bolt was loose and backed out. that was the initial noise. then next bolt loosened enough for the keeper plate to swing out and make the "card in spokes" noise.

should be simple fix.
