I have been collecting bits and pieces to build a leakdown tester and some other home made gadgets. One of the most frustrating things is trying to screw the compression tester and leakdown tester into the spark plug hole.
I found a few things to make extensions for the whips. It's now easy to screw in the extentions and then hook up the whip to the gauges. I also made a pressure bleeder out of a $12 bug sprayer. This picture also has a CIS pressure test set. I think these can be improved a bit, but here they are: ![]() There are a few more detailed pictures in the techincal photo's section: http://www.dorkiphus.com/porsche/mod...view_album.php The leakdown will hopefully be in operation tonight. The epoxy needed to harden so I can drill the tiny #60 oriface. There is a link on this board how to make one for yourself. Mine is a 2 gauge type with the extention to get to our spark plug hole easily. I thought they would be a useful addition to the tool loan program.
