Default Why is selling a car such a nightmare?

So im getting rid of my 911. Listed it on a few sites and I cannot get over the amt of emails I get from grumpy dudes who just want to tell me whats wrong with my car how its worth10k as they sold theirs in 1990 for 7 grand. I took all the ads down as I wanted to not lose my mind and feeling of self-worth. Its like they have a calling for it.

Selling everything on line sucks. I have a ton of shit in my house I need to sell that I can't work up the enrgy for because it's such a PITFA. I swear you could list a pristine, one owner, 100-mile 1973 Carrera RS for sale for $100 and you'd get a call from someone trying to talk you down to $50.

My wife messed up her knee this summer and had a bunch of down time pre/post surgery. She is almost fully recovered. Just for kicks and to give her something to do we pulled a bunch of random junk out of the basement and she put it on FB market place. About the only thing that didn’t move, old car parts.

Everything else is gone, sold!

I would recommend it, if you have time and just want to get rid of stuff.

Lots of clear pictures. Priced at or a pinch under prevalent going prices. That way you sell just the car and not a little bit of your soul as well.

Have to say I have found some good deals on FB classified ads. I think it might be a less pro venue perhaps. I have not sold anything there yet. Craig's list is becoming crazy town. Silly sellers too proud of their pile of junk to price it right but willing to 're list week after week for many months. Once in a while something good pops up but you have to be fast to see it and act before the other bargain hunters. Sometimes little old ladies do in fact sell off their dead husbands stuff.....

The hard part currently is knowing what the going prices are. People are all over the map with their asking prices. A lot of sellers think it’s still 2-3 years ago and the cars sit, but I thought this one was priced fair. I’m surprised it hasn’t sold.

I’ve been tempted to look at it, but I’m looking for a sunroof delete, lightweight hot rod. This ones seems too nice to strip and hot rod.

Thanks guys. I do think I’ve got it priced a bit high but then again the sale is all about negotiating. The color combo has been the best taking point so far as there aren’t too many like out there. Im going toss it on bat and see what happens.

The is some irony in the fact that you intentionally priced it high to negotiate, yet are annoyed by people telling you what is wrong with it and that the price should be lower

No, not at all who lists a car for the exact price the expect to get for it? Hence the reason obo exists. Comments about others telling me what to sell it for referred to those who said it’s not worth 10k. We both know that’s bs. Lol. If come said “hey I feel you should be at 28, 3Ok “ that’s not annoying at all. Advice is one thing being a jerk is another.
