Default my pdk leak saturday morning, 4/1

this is one time being first in line for tech paid off!

john reminded me i should be using pier tech, but he did it anyway

after pulling away, someone noticed a puddle of fluid under my car

this was pointed out to me after i registered

tom, from tpc racing, was a stand up guy helping me with the issue!

it seems that a factory o-ring seal on top of the pdk developed a pinhole leak - this has been seen before

i am confident tpc will sorted it out properly

the good...

the pdk was not damaged

i did not leak pdk fluid on track, because it never made it on track

tom and tpc racing was there to help - special thanks!

i did get some right seat time in this weekend

the bad...

no track joy for me this weekend

limited track joy for tom this weekend

Hmmm, there were no signs of the leak when a shop did a tech inspection? (I don't remember seeing you/ your car at Autobahn, although you may have been there)

Glad we caught it. It was me who noticed but I accused the car behind you of leaking oil. The driver then tracked you down after I gave him a heart attack! It was easy to spot because the grid was still very damp and the oil was just floating on top of the water and glistening.

So - which of those cars are you going to get? Sounds like a nice choice. Just sell your other P-cars and you'll be in the ballpark.

tom is a stand up guy. sad to see him leave the event- but I can say from extensive experience - he and the team really put customers first.

weekend before last I was at Audi and having the same trans issues I had this weekend. probably related to the master cutoff effing with the ECU or perhaps the trans cooler that exploded at sebring.

I texted and Mike called me five minutes later and said he'd come out to Summit and bring his PIWIS to help. He was the only reason I got any laps, and he drove all the way out there just to help me....then took the opportunity to crash the DE and lay down some insane laps in a Nismo GTR they are developing suspension for. Car looked monsterous - not for me - but impressive kit. so much carbon!!

also while we're praising shops - wanted to thank Sloan from SSI for his help Sat and Sun keeping me on the track with his PIWIS.

I need a PIWIS.

i was so sorry that issues with my car cut tom's track time

however, he did make it back for his last session on saturday, then sunday morning had some issues with his own car and departed early

I didn't have a heart attack so much as a headache searching for a leak that wasn't there while drying my pit area with my shirt and jeans. Gotta love those moments!

Thank you for the kind words, Otto and Fumes. Don't worry about me losing track time, its all in the day's work. On Sunday I overslept, I missed tech and drivings meeting so just decided to load the car up on the trailer. The car ran perfectly on Saturday day but Sunday morning when I started the engine to load up there was a horrendously loud hydraulic lifter tap, thought for sure the engine had come out. Then the car sat outside on the trailer for a day basking in warmer temperature and the tapping just disappeared. It was a hydraulic lifter that bled down then thankfully didn't happen again. On the few laps that I ran on Saturday I did run my personal best by 0.1 sec in traffic and without trying hard so that was an inspiring takeaway for the weekend. Thanks again and no worries.
