Default Can anybody tell me how Seat Time works?

I registered and paid a long time ago for the one taking place this Friday. I haven't heard from them since (I'm not complaining). There are so few people signed up, I'm wondering if they will even actually have it -- I would be surprised if they can cover the staff expenses.

Anyway, does anybody know whether there is a driver's meeting, what time it is, what time tech is, whether I have to use their number or I can use my own? Or anything else that might clue me in what to do Friday morning?

Thanks,

Jamey

The two times I drove in one there was no grid tech, and almost no manning of flag stations. Format was two run groups: racers, and all others. 30 minutes on track, 30 minutes off. Lots of track time!

Just show up at the time they tell you. If there is a brief meeting they will let you know.

If you haven't run with them before they verify your experience and look for recommendations prior to accepting you.

You should hear from them soon.

The one time I did Seat Time, we only had about 10 cars, so racers and the rest of us were combined. As I recall, we could run about 50 minutes every hour, with a 10 minute break for the corner workers. Ran out of energy before day ended.

Very casual, but at least in my session, all were well behaved.

I forgot to follow up. About 20 drivers showed up for the street car division. They advertise pass anywhere with a point, but when I got there I found out it was just the same passing zones as the blue group. All the usual corner buckets were staffed. We did half-hour on, half-hour off. Total of 6 sessions.

Even with the blue-type passing restrictions, there were so few people it wasn't bad. I had my '79 coupe and I think I'm finally getting the mechanical aspects of that car sorted. Managed to work out some 1:36s, even though my heel-toe is still rusty.

The 1:36's start around the 16:00 point in this one. And then at the end, I'm so stoked that I took a victory lap. The CI was nice about it though.
