Old computer needed for student disassembly/learning
Hi everyone:
My friends son is taking Linux in Montgomery College. He is learning about the hardware components. I was wondering if any has a pc they have been meaning to trash but haven't gotten around to it? (I had two old pc's but took them to recycling when I moved recently). He would need to take it apart to learn what the function of the components are then reassemble it. A bonus if it can still boot (motherboard not trashed) as he also needs to install a Linux distribution. No hard drive is fine as I have a few old ones around here somewhere. Thank you.

I have one,a Gateway desktop pc, and am a bit closer than TR. Was going to bring it up to Shady Grove transfer station, would be delighted if you could use it.

Same excuse as 'shim" thread. Been transferring files from hard drive but should be ready by tomorrow afternoon. Sounds like you got what you need though.
