Check all fuses if you haven't done that. Then

1. Check ground strap from Tranny to chassis for corrosion.

2. Jack up right side of car and hit starter with a hammer continuously while someone is trying to start the car. If nothing happens go to 3

3. Make sure that you have over 12 volts to the main terminal on the soleniod with the key OUT of the ignition. If no . . . battery is not charged or is bad or cable from battery to starter might have corroded internally and is no longer conducting the current efficiently

4. Make sure that the small wire (yellow I think) is getting 12 volts when the key is turned on (be careful reaching up there while starter is being turned).

5. Unplug and clean 14 pin connector and replug.

Let us know.

Another problem that has been cropping up on older cars is the ignition switch goes bad. On our SC it was the key part. The wheel lock makes this expensive to replace. But it can also be the electrical plug in the back. The electrical connection just gets unplugged from the back for testing. If your key has no resistance when you turn it to the “start position” it’s probably the key switch. The good news is that after you remove & dismantle the switch you can still drive the car by using a screwdriver until you can replace the unit. I got a used replacement lock w/o a key cheep, but have not had it re-keyed to match the doors yet. I need to get this done before the DE season starts again; it’s really hard to reach the modified “switch” when harnessed & then what do you do w/a lose screwdriver while on the track? Linda was patient all season but now says enough! That’s what I get for missing Hershey this year.
