Default FS: Red 968 ~ street/DE ~ $7000 ~ good condition, needs head gasket

***** SOLD *****

The time has come to let go of my 6-speed manual 1994 Guards Red / Cashmere 968 with 143,500 miles for $7000 or best offer. She is setup as a streetable drivers ed car with a full interior in good condition. I am hoping to find someone who will enjoy and care for her as much as I did.

She was my daily driver for several years, and then garaged at my parents house since late 2011 and driven every month or two. I recently spent a lot of time and money prepping her for sale, only to discover that she needs a new head gasket during the VA emissions inspection, hence the low price. Despite the problem she runs well, and is registered and inspected in VA. If you are looking at comparable cars, keep in mind that all 968s need a head gasket around this age and mileage.

Other than the head gasket, she is in excellent mechanical shape and has many new or recently-replaced parts, including a new windshield, 1st and 2nd gear synchros, steering rack, etc. See below for a full list. I have detailed records going back to 2005 from the previous owner, including the original Porsche service book. She was serviced at Precision Motorsports Racing in NJ, then RS Barn and Performance Automotive in PA.

Please send an IM with your email address for additional pics or to schedule a drive. The car is at IMA Motorsports in Chantilly.

Andy

A quote for the head gasket repair is below. It's about a $3600 job. I've already paid the $238 for the compression/leakdown.
