Sorry.. Didn't mean to leave the other Dorkiphians out. David's in charge of timing. Tony is running and timing. Kurt is also running - his car and tech. I'm sure there are others ...

OH MY GOD, can I just say once more WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND I HAD!

The weather, the driving, the fellow dorki and of course, the cars, all combined for one fantastic weekend. The next time I get back on the track won't be soon enough

As for the TT, I wound up winning my bracket racing (for G class) by coming with-in .18 seconds of my estimated time. My two laps were with-in .5 seconds of each other so it was nice to see the consistency. Unfortunately that consistency didn't provide the overall speed to win the class outright but that's OK, it certainly gave me something to shoot for

Most importantly I really felt I found the line this weekend and was able to dramatically improve on my track driving. I had a terrific instructor and I was signed off to run solo for my last session.

Thanks to the Potomac crew and all the Dorki/Pelicanheads who helped make this the special weekend that it was.

Dave - I waited around until almost 5:00 but had to hit the road then in order to make a family commitment. Fortunately I was able to pick up my plaque and t-shirt before I left so I was able to share them with the wife and kids tonight.

Default you picked up the plaque...

That's funny, Doug, they were ready to give you another one at the official ceremony!

It was a great weekend... even for those of us who were simply spectating.

There are pics in the gallery of both the DE and TT. Please add more!

Congrats Doug! It was fun coming out to SP Saturday to hang out with you guys and take some pics. I'll post some in the Gallery tomorrow. Unfortunately, capturing on-track action with digital photography is pretty challenging, so the on-track pics from my camera are at best so-so. I think it's time to get my old 35mm SLR camera tuned up and use it for future events. Or better yet, I should actually participate in future DE events and leave the photography to some other kind souls.

Great weekend. Full of events and some great driving.

Doug's feat is set forth above.

Greg was elevated to Blue after one session on Sat. and managed to torch a number of the senior Blue guys. Nothing like making friends fast.

I got an in car education from Tony (I go through brake pads like water) Kelly which was priceless.

Speaking of brakes . . . . Bill decided he would rather work on his than drive this morning . . . . everyone that goes to SP needs to talk to Bill about the man named "Coleman"

John: Great pictures. Thanks for your willingness to be on the business end of the camara.

Next stop . . . . . . VIR

Doug, you da man! Congrats!!

Marc, it was really after two sessions . But you're absolutely right otherwise. Something satisfying about out drag racing a particular 944 Turbo driver we know ...

John: Great pictures! (like the "outlaw" status imposed on the tub )

Bill W: Did you get to run in the afternoon? Glad you got to meet Dave C. (and that he was able to help out).

Doug E: Congratulations on the TT!

Good to see all the other Dorkiphi at the track as well.

All in all a good DE but frustrating for my run group (two cancelled sessions). That's the way it goes sometimes.

I did like the Chief Instructor's "Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot" speech and I thought the remaining sessions went ........ a little more smoothly.

VIR 9/12-14 here we come!
