Well, couldn't pass up a very motivated seller so this is now parked out front. Lets of cosmetic issues (peeled hood, dented driver side intake, dings/scratches) but not a real issue if I go a certain path

Nicely done. It'll make a fine track car. We once had a deer hit our fender near the intake with its hoof. There's a bit of room behind there that you may be able to easily pound most of it back out. There's a couple of screws that hold the intake grate in place.

Perfect track-find! I wonder what happened w that hood. Probably a flawed re-spray from prior damage? You can probably net back some good money selling off interior parts that you don't need.

$8,300
His story on the hood is that a palm tree was hit by lightning and the burning fronds fell onto the hood scorching the clear coat ![]()

Ran through all the modules yesterday with the PIWIS. Only CELs were related to an aftermarket locking gas cap (must not be a tight fit). Then, I blithely cleared the faults, refilled the windshield wiper fluid container (which leaks explaining why the dash light was on - apparently got tired of refilling it), and then drove over to the inspection station. Didn't even stop to think I needed to give it enough time to re-cycle the ready tests for the OBD2 tests... sigh... waste of a good hour just to fail inspection with a non-failure result. Doh!
There are some Range 1 (7190 last about 7 years ago - which makes no sense given ->) and 2 (165 or .4 seconds last about 2 years ago). The first is just rev limiter. Ordered rotors, pads, clips, sensors, bolts, SS brake lines, and rotor screws to do an all round rebuild. Once I get the rears off I can look at the emergency brake and at least clean it up if its good. The existing rotors are EOL and therefore the pads are a toss out even though they have depth. Best way to go quick safely is to be able to stop, right? What do most folks run on the track for pads. My understanding is that rotors have to be stock but pads are free? Nothing else really jumping out besides the need to break out the cleaners and the buffer. Needs some bulbs (borrowed one from my Cayman for the inspection as it was totally missing rather than burned out) and one of the little triangles lens covers ($50 new) that doesn't do anything is missing and there's a chip missing at the top edge of the enclosure so I may look for a replacement anyway as it doesn't match the right side one (right side is amber at the bottom while the left side is faded amber). Not sure which was replaced. Gotta love archeology. I have to do more research on what most folks do for the other free items (shocks, wheels, tires, etc.). My current objective is to be able to drive it to the track for now, maybe change a few things when I get there. Still in the early stages of thought.

I'm confused - are you building for a specific racing class? Everything is "free" at a DE.
