Default Julie's new car

Never been much of a Ford family but after checking out Chevy Cruze, Mini Clubman, Mazda3 5 door, and Hyundai Veloster, the winner was Ford Focus SE 5 door. Most car for the money, no dead spot when hitting the throttle like the Mini and Hyundai and they took 15% off sticker without even having to "talk to the manager". Julie really wanted another Mini Clubman but this one aced it on all counts, acceleration, ride, handling, mileage, room, gadgets and price (by a long shot). I was tempted to buy two, the turbocharged ST was an absolute hoot to drive and came in "Tangerine Scream". Interesting new dynamic at the dealership, all the showroom staffers were in their early twenties, I guess you can't support a family selling everday cars anymore. Kind of sad.

I had a Focus in Houston last month. I so wanted to like it. I was so disappointed. I almost called Tony to complain. It was also bigger than my DD 3 series. (I parked next to one).

My DD was wrecked and I had my choice of a Passat or a Mazzzzda 6 for a week. I picked the Mazzzzda. It was like a poor mans 5 series. A little underpowered but twice the car of the Focus.

What was it you didn't like about the Focus? I drove the Mazda6 as well and absolutely loved it but Julie needs/prefers a hatch.

No, since his tune has not put me on the podium, definitely not.

Acceleration sucked, steering sucked. It was bigger than it should have been.

The a/c worked well in the Houston heat.

When drving it back to back with the others it was clearly the best for like $5k less. I can do like one club race day for $5k.
