Default PCA Potomac - Autocross #7 - Sunday 10-18-09

Reminder.. the last Potomac PCA Autocross of the year is this Sunday, October 18 at Baysox Stadium in Bowie, Md.

I am sure there are some season championships up for grabs! Weather should be good (but unless there are floods or lightning, the event should go on!)

Register online or at the door! See the Potomac PCA website for more details.

Yeah....I'm not too thrilled with the forecast so far. But I guess it is what it is. It appears to mostly be drizzling, which I guess is better than it could be. I'm also considering maybe grouping by class within a Heat this time, to give competitors a fair shot at each other. We'll see how the weather and attendance unfolds tomorrow.

Not driving because of the cast on my leg, but I'll be there with Pam. Hopefully the crutches will fit in the boxster.....

Sounds like a good idea!

At SCCA we always ran in classes. It draws the best out of you.

See ya

Report? How was it?

Would have been there if it was good weather. Don't mind driving in the rain... but don't like standing in it!

Results and pics forthcoming. Suffice it say the weather......well.......sukked. But regardless, 17 "hard core" enthusiasts came out to have fun anyway. We ended up doing a another 2X format where each heat got 2 sets of runs, for a total of 11 runs on the course! Thanks to all that braved the elements to have some fun, despite the cold and wetness. It was fun watching the variations of WRC style driving on the wet pavement.

BIG thank you to Tony and his crew for coming out on a day when most folks would've rather stayed in bed!

LOTS of fun!!! My brother in law enjoyed his very first autocross ever and was already talking about 'next time' on the ride home. He never got in the habit of looking at the timing board after his runs but i suspect he did pretty darn well for his first time.
