Default Weekend update on my '68

Engine out, dismantled, in the process of cleaning all the bits. Will be sending out the heads, cams, case.

Pulled the rear suspension and will have to replace wheel bearings on one side. I can't believe how expensive one inner bearing is..$102 at pelican!

The konis are in decent shape so I'm going to open them up to see how they look. They both move well but may need new seals. Anyone know where these can be bought? Koni doesn't sell rebuild kits and it's cheaper to replace than have them refurbed. I'm trying to save the wallet here and can always replace them again later. Also need to find new bushings for the bottom mount.

I pulled the interior in the rear to expose the rust. I will spend next weekend finding the full extent of the rust. Doesn't look too horrible.

I've included new pics. Notice the 17" Lindsey fuchs! They look really sharp on the car. Will need to use larger spacers in the rear since these have a different offset to the BBS wheels and they rub slightly. Currently have 6mm spacers and I'm thinking that doubling those should work as long as I don't go too low. Will need to play around with this a bit.

You got some rust-eradication work to do there ..

Koni - I use Truechoice Koni Racing Services - Click here.. Rebuild originals [if that is req'd] and carry full line + race + custom, etc... Are one of only a few Koni authorized "refurb" shops out there for them.

Making progress

Good stuff! But what I like best is how you have the parts washer on a 4-wheel dolly. Great idea.
