Default Pics from tear down - gouged rocker shafts

Here are some more pics from my '68 engine teardown. Dr K. you wanted to see pics of the gouged rocker shafts. Turns out about half were trashed.

Anyone have thoughts on the cylinder work? Looks like they were machined to reduce compression and then a spacer was added to bring it back down. I am considering increasing this spacer size to bring the compression down from 200.

I don't know how easy replacement parts are to come by, but if they're not this is a place that came well recommended to me by a knowledgeable Studebaker racer when I inquired about having the rocker assemblies of my R1 rebuilt. I'm still using a "good used" set for now though so no personal experience.

IIRC machining the jug seat increases compression by lowering the cyl and head in relation to the crank. Adding different size or number of spacers tunes the head clearance. Max Headroom and all that. How do the crank and rods look? Rockers and rocker shafts are not too hard to find.

Me too and at this point I'd try and find out the actual CR before doing anything. CCing the heads would be my first move.

CC the heads will will you if they have been fly cut. I might be inclined to check Piston to Head clearance and use that for compression numbers, valve clearance and timing. Looks like this motor has been changed a bit. Stroke might be worth checking to see if it was stroked. a stroker would need the jugs dropped depending on how it was done.
