Default Wheel Stud for Toyota or Lexus Truck

Has anyone here ever replaced a wheel stud on a 4 runner or lexus truck? One of mine decided to snap on me and I was wondering if this stud can be removed while the hub is is still on the car?

I did one on my minivan a few years ago (Dodge, not a Toyota). Some safety inspection goons had impact wrenched it too hard.

Probably the same process still applies: the studs are just pressed in, so you can knock them out with a decent hammer (I like my 3lb one). Mine was on the front - I had to look for a hub orientation where I could get a decent straight shot out the back to get the stud in and out. There was only one possible position, probably just for that purpose, but even then I had to dremel a little bit off the iron carrier to get the new stud to make it in. I've got a set of stud installers now, but back then I just used a bunch of sacrificial washers and an extra lug nut to put the stud in tight.

I nobody else chimes in with specific Toyota knowledge, you should take the rotor (or drum?) off and see what kind of obstructions you have behind the hub. It should be obvious whether you have a chance at getting it out or not.

You can on a first gen Sienna minivan, but that's basically a Camry. Only way to find out is try (or post on a Toyota Truck board).
