"some rust" - I've heard that before with 914s! .. all guages work.. except for the odometer, trip odometer and the clock.. Could be a fair basis for a project/fun car.

Thumbs up

i don't mean this to be a bash of a nice looking car but ....... for someone in the market for this car might use this bargaining chip on the price, so just between us dorki's, 76 914's only came w/2.0L motors so the car has a built up 1.8, they actually decreased the displacement of the engine for that year car. not that that is a bad thing. not a bash, just an observation.

Perhaps someone else's eyes are better than mine (emphasis added):

I thought about the 1.8 thing too, but maybe you would need to see the VIN to confirm. Could be a '75 that sat unsold and wasn't registered till '76 and thus became over the years, a "76".

I think it would take *excellent* vision to see anything in those pics beyond the obvious. Pretty clever to hid rust with photos take from 100 ft away

So.. Marks got one.. I got one.. Vu, does he still have his? Seems 914s are growing in popularity - go for it! (besides, I need other stock 914s to run with)

914's are fun little cars. But then again, that's the only Porsche model I've ever driven .... oh yeah, except for my cousin's RS America ...... had to back off after 130

I guess in order to know if it's a real value, one really has to look the car over. My first impression was that the asking price was a little bit on the high end based on the description. On that alone, if I was looking for a 914 to buy, I would not have given that car a second thought. I'm sure it's exactly how the owner is representing it, I hope he/she can find a new owner.
