I wouldn't mind saving some weight, but the battery has to be a daily driver battery able to tolerate extended periods of non-use.
Should I just head over to Sears, or is there something better?

There's an Interstate distribution place near the airpark in Gaithersburg that stock about everything under the sun.
Not sure there is anything that is lighter and will fit without modification. I put in an Odyssey P680 battery and it does fine though will run down if not used in ~3 weeks w/ the alarm on. However, I did save ~20#.

I use a walmart battery. I think I paid $40 for it. Theres plenty of ways to save weight in these cars, so I just bought the cheapest thing I could find.
