Default Need a local powdercoating source...

I just got a dirt cheap set of HB crash bars for my bike. I mean cheap and worth it. They look pretty rough. I may need to put some Bondo on there before they're painted. But I want to have them powdercoated black. Who knows? I may even make it a year before dropping my bike again. Anyone have any ideers? These bars come in small parts and can probably fit into my own over pretty well. But I know nothing about this kind of painting.

Talk to me about the shop in Manassas. Rick, can't powdercoat over Bondo.

Don't use your own oven to powder coat unless you are planning to buy another oven.

I think I'm gonna do the old rattle can in the garage with Rustoleum or truck bed liner. Powdercoating is tood good for these bars, which most certainly will be abused and scuffed up in the future.

I still have an old electric double-oven I yanked out of my kitchen earlier this year if anyone is thinking about setting up a garage powdercoating operation for smaller parts... It's free! If no takers, it will be dumped in another week or two.

I am set up to do powder coating of small stuff in my garage. Dedicated oven and sears powder coating system. Works pretty well. Your welcome to come by and use it.

Thanks Frogger. Just got my parts all welded up last night. Now comes surface prep. I'm gonna try the rattle can first.
