Question 944 2.5L N/A Distributor

Anyone ever do a distributor replacement in a 2.5L N/A?

Degree of difficulty 1-10 rating is appreciated.

Howie

I would guess that you have to start pretty much like a timing belt job....apply the flywheel lock, then disassemble all the stuff that pertains to the timing belt. Then you need to take off the cam cover and remove the distributor.

That being said....

I have done the t-belt 3 times on my car...it's a pain but much easier after you have done it several times. I have NOT done the cam cover, but I know the guys in the Rennlist 944 forum do it all the time since they send the cam cover out for polishing or powdercoating.

I don't know if there's any tricks but I would start by asking there.
