Default MD/VA/DC P-Car Gathering

Dear P-Festers:

Even though I found this site a little too late and this event conflicts with couple of other events on the same date and the July 1st event...

We decided to get together with various P-car owners and enthusiast and the gathering is set forJuly 8, 2006. Funktion Auto was kind enough to sponsor our efforts and host the afternoon portion of the gathering.
Of course it is open to all P-cars and we hope to see you all

I will be providing more details, after I come back from VIR, however, the framework is to meet up at Startbucks in Rockville (at the intersection of 355 and Old Georgetown Rd.), have friendly chats while enjoying our coffee or chay, then drive off through the back roads to Virginia, stop at Funktion Auto for some car-lated fun, then finish the day, with anyone who would attend, at Allsports with a go-kart competition.

Details:

10 am - Meet up at Starbucks
11 am - Drive to Funcktion Auto through back roads of course
12 am - Arive at FA, lunch, tour the facilities
2 pm - Mini Grand Prix at Allsports
4 pm - Start waiting for the next event

List of Attendees (as of 6/30):
FT - Cayman S (+1)
ArtMan - Cayman S
OKayMan - Cayman S
Eospeed - 951
BobbyB - Boxster S (may be)
Mr.MRI - Cayman S (+1)
RK1 - 996 911
AmerLeMans - Cayman S
dhicks - 993 911
Thank you,

I keep trying to make one of these gatherings. But, alas, I'm out of town again on this one... Perhaps next time?

I'd go, especially to hangout with BobbyB of BRBS fame, but it conflicts with the Porsche BBQ in Great Falls.

DAMN! Wish I could make this, but will be flying back from Arizona that evening. Have fun - Funktion has a nice shop and Allsports rocks.

Sounds like a great idea, but many people have committed to the BBQ on July 8th. Is there anyway this event can be run on a different weekend?

I sicerely apologize for picking that particular weekend and creating a conflict with others. At the time I made arrangements with all the parties, I was aware of this community and by the time Parenn911 pointed it out to me, it was too late.

I am certain we will have multiple similar events in the coming months. FunktionAuto, who has been a big supporter of the P-car and racer communities since they opened, is very open to hosting this type of events. One of the attractions, at least for me, is the high possibility of visiting the entire facilities and see all historic and collector cars, from the Dino, 250GTO, Prototype Labo Countach, SL300, etc. Amazing collection of cars.

Of course finishing up the day with freindly competiton is a must , especially if we going down close to Dulles area. To make things even more interesting, I will contact Brian Hair of OG Racing, and issue a challenge to the BMWCCA gus I don't think they will be able to resist a Porsche vs. BMW shootout in the karts.

We will stick to the published schedule as closly as possible. So, if you would like to join at the first part and go to BBQ later on, that's certainly cool. Or if you finish BBQ early, you may want to join us at 2 pm at Allsports.

Again, I apologize for creating the conflicts, I will coordinate better next time.

Cheers,

Cheers,
A little late - we have previously held a Porsche League v. BMW League race at Allsports. Came out nearly tied.
