Question DE July 10 - 11

I am doing a DE on July 10th - 11th with the Shattenbaum region at Summit Point. I currently have the seats out of my car for rebuilding. Are two seats required to run in the White group? Since the seats are already out I am thinking of keeping the passenger seat out until after the DE. Less weight and more room to fit other DE related stuff (wheels etc).

Thanks,

Chris

Where would an instructor sit?

The instructor could sit on the floor. Actually lay him/her down there to keep the weight nice and low. Thinking velcro or straps to keep them from moving too much. They should have a nice view of my heel toe work and feel for how the car is handling.

Hope you can make it. The Shattenbaum events are unique because there are fewer cars....longer runs and some non Porsche cars to run against. Good group of folks as well.

Regarding the seat question. White group does not require an instructor. So I am wondering if I need to put the seat back in.

Its a permission vs forgiveness thing. Most regions will want the second seat, but the best shot is to email the CU at Schattenbaum and let him know you only have a driver's seat. I'm guessing he will be OK with that.

Or borrow a seat… didn’t we have this discussion before (déjà vu, all over again!)?

I help run the Schattenbaum events with Dan Petchel. I can tell you without a doubt that you do not need the seat if you run solo.

So who is going to this event? The Blue Ridge event looks like it's cancelled. Anyone in for this one?
