Default 1984 911 Carrera Coupe For Sale - Harrisburg, PA

Good afternoon everyone,

I am a brand new member, recommended by Paul Behofist at EIMC in Harrisburg. I know that Paul drives and instructs at VIR from time to time, so I thought some of you might know him.

At any rate, my wife and I have decided that it is time to sell our beloved air cooled 911 (which we purchased in 2003). With two boys in the house we just don't drive it enough. It isn't really fair to the car. We hope to replace it when they are out of school.

At any rate, it is a 1984 Coupe, with whale tail, in slate blue metallic (which you don't see every day, but is quite nice). It sort of turns charcoal at dusk. Interior is blue leather. It has 111,XXX miles on it, and is a solid runner. It is virtually stock, with only some minor modifications. It was lowered to euro spec and corner balanced, K&N air filter, slight programming tweak, and that is pretty much it. Never been tracked, but we used to autocross a few times a year at Hershey.

We are going to take some pictures over the weekend and will try to post them on Monday, if not sooner.

Paul thinks it is worth more, but we are asking $36,000.

Please let me know if anyone has any questions.

-Sean Delaney

Welcome, and GLWTS.

Adding photos to your post will do wonders. And also indicating when the motor and transmission were last rebuilt (and by who), when shocks/ struts, bushings, etc. were replaced, etc. will help a lot. For a 33 year old car potential buyers are very interested to know when the big ticket items were last performed.

Thanks David,

We haven't had any issues with the engine or transmission, both are original. I did forget to mention that a short shift was added and the shift bushings were replaced at that time. Maybe six years ago. She was just inspected by Paul Behofist and the only thing needed was an oil change and one bulb. I will add photos over the weekend. Thanks!

I took these on my phone this morning, and had to drop the resolution to upload. Please let me know if anyone has questions.

Beautiful car - GLWTS. Could you take a photo of the rear torsion bar area, where there is a cover (containing a bushing) where the torsion bar exits the body? That will give an idea of the condition of the suspension bushings? Thanks.

Is this right? I know where the major things are. Engine, steering wheel, et cetera. The finer points are not my strong suit...

Curious about the wheels. The fronts look like 7" wheels from a 944 Turbo, given what appears to be recessed lug nuts. Are they 7" front and 8" rear?

I think that is correct. These are the wheels that came with the car when purchased.

Very nice looking car. Good luck with the sale. you shouldn't have any problem selling the vehicle.
