I have one (and the only 91) of what are believed to be 5 factory special ordered Zermatt Silver 964 turbos; see you guys on the track

Are you talking about Dr. John's grey GT2; which believe it or not someone traded in at Tischer...

Great guy too. He is exactly who I had in mind when I made my comments.

How did you load your photos? I normally use flicker and cut and paste the photo but this site will not let me prompt the paste function.

I have a friend with a very rare silver Boxster who runs it at the track that came with 40 less HP from the factory than normal Boxsters of that year..... At least is seems that way ...

US 1969 912 with sunroof. Very rare duck in the present context with only 9 total. Only one in the color mine was. What does that mean? Squat. A 912 with a sunroof is largly a cosmetic change over the other 1250 or so imported for the year.

Rare cars that are made by adding packages to common cars are one thing. Rare cars that are rare because they are another animal altogether are something else altogether.

My car is rare because it is the only one I own. That's all I care about.

I've got a 944 with only one small dash crack. That has to be rare.

The Club Coupe was a pretty cool idea. They announced the car at the 50th PCA Parade in Hershey PA, in 2005 (we happened to be there that day!).

PCA then held a raffle for 49 of the 50 cars. 48 winners were given the opportunity to purchase one (thousands entered the raffle).

And 1 lucky recipient actually won the car outright! (It was won by Cliff Rosenberry, who also happened to be a participant of a popular Boxster forum, Porsche Petes Boxster Board (PPBB). The board went nuts following the announcement in Oct 05 during an American LeMans weekend). He received the car later at PCNA HQ.

The 50th car is now in the Porsche museum.

A Porsche dealership owner, in Roanoke VA, was one of the lottery winners to purchase a Club Coupe. The car is similarly optioned to TD's, and AFAIK, is still kept in a air filled cocoon on the dealership floor. I saw it last summer, and the car only had 6 miles on it.

Great find by TD. I know these cars are meant to be driven, but I dunno how much I'd be willing to flog this one......

Nice pics Tony.

I will take very good care of the club coupe. But I can think of no better way to honor the spirit of Porsche and the Porsche Club of America than to use the car as much as possible. Seems a little antithetical to the whole idea of a Porsche to put it in a bubble . . . but I am glad that at least one will be preserved as pristine.
