Default 968 Stuff, Classic Project

Hello. We, at work, are doing a classic "restoration" project for 22. Last year we worked on an 87 Slantnose. This year we are working on a tip 968 that we are using Porsche parts to make into a "clubsport" like build, more of a full M030 conversion and doing maintenance items.

Luckily we have a real Clubsport to compare the parts to and Porsche Classic's catalog has grown significantly on transaxle cars...

Also, we are sponsoring TeamTGM at daytona again this year... unfortunately no party though. Stay safe and I will do my best to keep you all updated.

Cool!
We’ll have to ride up in Aaron’s 968 DE car some day to compare.

Very nice to have a real deal CS to compare notes on.

This is very cool. Can you tell us more, how do you select the projects?

This one fell into my lap. I met the previous owner in 2009 and told him to let me know if he ever wanted to sell the car... 13 years later.

The car has a very good service history with ASG and has been well taken care of. I am going to spend a bit of time familiarizing myself with it prior to making sure of the directions we are going with the car. Alot of the M030 stuff in NLA. Most expensive being the front spindles. Adaptors can be had for the S4 front brakes but we are attempting to use real parts rather than items sourced outside of the catalog.

Luckily all of the dampers/springs and such are available. The car has white wheels from the factory so keeping them would be ideal but you cant fit S4 brakes under them(even though S4's had 16" wheels).

We are going to put both cars on the lift to do a lot of measuring to see exactly what needs to happen next!

I would be interested in the part numbers of the rear Koni coilovers that are on the Clubsport if you get a chance. I have a set on my race car that I bought from Jason at Paragon many years ago that were new-old-stock that he found a couple of sets at the factory in Holland. I have not been able to find the part numbers in any catalog. I did find that they may have been used on the S2 Clubsports. Part numbers I have are 8242-1003(R or L)SPORT. I need to sell them to help pay for the MCS I bought.

Not meaning to take this too far off track, but Steve, what is an MCS?

This defintely does not answer your question this is the only internal info I could find. This pertains to a MY94 Clubsport

It did. The team is very happy with the result. Lap times were really great too. Hoping to go back next year.
