Default Local (NoVA) source for raw steel?

Looking for a local source for steel tubing, angle iron, square stock, sheet metal, and bar/strip stock.

Can be simple 1020 mild, though 4130 and 304/316 SS would be nice, too.

I may just order from McMaster unless there is a reasonable local source.

Don't need a massive amount, maybe 30-40 lbs total.

The bmore location also lets me look at the scrap stuff they have with are usually large pieces to and just pay by the weight. Might be another option. I need a 1" thick by 16" square alum plate to use are a shim on my lift as the floor was out by an inch. They had a piece that worked then cut it to fit what I needed for free. I ended up with 4 1x4x4" lift pads and a large 1x16x16" shim for less then $50.

try www.thebluebook.com/va under "Steel Distributors and Warehouses"

There are several VA locations of BMG listed, as well as another dozen companies. Not sure which Oak Hill you are at, so hard to tell which places may be close to you.

FWIW, if you can't find something local, onlinemetals.com worked well for me for some odd stuff.

Too small an amount for some steel yards. Potomac steel in Springfield is my go to for structural steel but they are not the best at under full stick in some shapes and sizes
