Default Expires seats/harnesses

Hello all,

Just gathering more information in preparation for the future!

What does everybody do with expired racing seats and harnesses? Are they allowed in any circumstances once they age past a certain point on the manufacturing date? Asking more from HPDE and autocross perspective.

Thanks,
Nick

For club racing an expired seat is fine as long as you have a back brace installed.

Harnesses go to autocrossers or for the sim seat

Expired harnesses are also excellent for tow straps, engine hoists, or other such things. You can even double them up, if you don't trust them 100%.

I think TrakRatt found a use or two for expired harnesses down in his basement 'playroom'. You can PM him for details (and probably pics).

I'll bring this to a specific: My seats - SparcoPro2000's manufactured 2005. Considering both science and rules, is there any reason for safety concerns about using them for DE?
