Welding Class Interest
So I was talking to my buddy the other night about setting up a class for some of the local dorkis. Pretty much going to be a basic mig class with maybe some plasma cutting. Maybe a tig course later down the road ... but smaller due to the nature of it.
I wanted to poll you guys to see what exactly you wanted to get out of the course. I told him that most people would want to weld thin sheet metal for patch panels and prob up to 1/8 for autobody. Typical trouble shooting of the mig welder and how to adjust based on reading the puddle or lack there of due to burn through. If there is more interest then what I listed maybe we can come up with a take home project at the end instead of a bunch of welded together scrap. A souvenir of the class, lol. Pretty much just trying to set up a syllabus so that you get the most out of the class. This would prob happen during my next vaca Feb-March since Ill most likely help out. My other question is of the interested folks how many have welders now and experience vs no experience?

Let me provide strong encouragement for your effort in this!! Other ideas:
- Shielding gas set-up - Stainless steel tubing (exhaust type stuff) Experience: Self taught with the ability to generally stick metal together and the grind (Well lots of grinding) until it looks OK. In general I would appreciate any advice or experience you could pass along. V/R |

I'd be in for that! Some stainless or even aluminum welding would be great as well.

I'm already signed up for that other welding class, but I would love to go to a TIG class. I've been itching to buy a TIG welder for a long time, but want a lesson first, since they're to much $$$ to just leave sitting in the corner with no idea how to use.
