Default Wife needs 20 hr/wk A/R, A/P bookkeeping position

My wife has had 20 hour a week accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping positions for a few years (9am to 2 pm Monday to Friday due to being a mom with a child in school). She is currently out of work due to cutbacks and is looking for a new position. Needs to be within a 30 minute drive of Olney, MD. Anyone know of any openings?

Thanks.

Why not start your own business. She could work from home and make better money.

<bump> just want to keep this from splintering off in a direction you did not ask for advice about...

We have an almost-full-time person at my company for these services, so we do not need anyone at this time. But good luck with the search, and I hope one of the other small business owners on this site may have an opening.

Dave may have a lead on something for you if she can handle driving down Georgia Ave to downtown Silver Spring.

Sending you a PM with more info.

Dave depending on her skill set she might be able to find temp work at a CPA firm, particularly during tax season.

CPA firms have not been listing openings. Anyone know of any hiring?

It is particularly hard to find the 20 hour a week position. If she could work 40 hours a week she'd have a job by now but she needs to get our son on the bus to school in the morning and be home when he gets home.

Why not let her put in 40+ for a while, and you play Mr. Mom!

Might be a couple of days- early next week before my wife gets back to her. One of our dogs tried to off himself by eating 60x the regular dose of an already dangerous anti inflammatory yesterday. While one dog is spending all his time (and our $$$) at the vets 24hrs a day until at least Saturday we are keeping an eye on the other one thinking he did not get into it. Wife is a bit of a basket case and very tired from lack of sleep so she is taking the next two days off.

Probably too late in the game for tax season hires. At least it would be for us. Although going forward, anyone that is willing to only work during tax season is very attractive.
