Default Guard LSD sourcing

Does anyone know a local place to get a Guard LSD for a 964 G50, and potentially a gearset?

Or does anyone have another place they'd like to recommend from experience?

TPC Racing is a Guard dealer. They can get anything Guard currently makes.

Charlie at Intersport put the LSD in my 993. (But I forgot which brand it was.)

Not local but you may want to at least talk with Matt @ http://www.guardtransmission.com He’s pretty good to work with.

If price is any object a Guard will set you back about 3k maybe more. Another option is to get a Porsche lsd and rebuild it with Guard clutches. That's the direction I took in the past. Found a G50 lsd for about 800.00 on Pelican then the rebuild parts were about 600.00 as I recall.

I now have a Giken in my current race car and it has been rock steady so far for 2 seasons.

Here's an epic Rennlist thread on the subject.

Thanks, everyone. I was going to talk to Matt at Guard directly, but he posted recently that he is sick, delaying responses, and also doesn’t deal directly with consumers, only distributors.

I decided to keep it stock for now, and rebuild the stock LSD, since it’s going to be primarily a street car from now on. I’m going put the money towards deleting the sunroof and respraying it instead.

Sloan at SSI rebuilt both of the LSD's in mine and the Boy's race cars with Guard parts and has the ability to source the clutch plates and shims from Guard that can increase the lockup to whatever percentage you want. Ours are 80% lockup, increased from the factory 40%(when new).
