Default Has anyone repaired a chipped windshield?

Helo:

I have a small chip in my windshield that I'd like to repair before it starts cracking and requires a replacement windshield.

Has anyone used one of the repair kits out there? I've watched some YouTube videos and it looks fairly easy. I suppose a repair like that will hold up for a while.

Any thoughts or feedback would be helpful.

Thanks in advance. I

LS

The third day I had my new Tundra I got a rock chip at eye level. Namaste as a MoFo I went to Trak Auto and got a kit. The Rain-X job is fine. Follow the instructions, be patient and it works. Either garage the car or shoot for a sunny day to do the repair. It is important to have temps. sufficient to cure the resin.

Infact, I'm waiting for a warm day to fix two more rock chips.

Lucky me.

Check your insurance company. They may conver a professional repair with no deductable. Cheaper to them then replacing the windshield of it cracks from the chip

That is what I did. Years later, no crack from that chip.

I DIY it too, never had an issue, epoxy cures just fine if the directions are followed.
