First time i've been on Dorki for a while.
Its great to see that your getting the car back together.
Two of my kids learned to drive in that car. And both cut their teeth in Autocross too!

Cant wait to see her finished!

Got the car back from the body shop the other day and bumper lines up nicely and trunk closes. Trunk is a little higher on one side, so may have to cut out a little of the trim to allow it to sit more flush...put the back end all back together. Will keep an eye out for a white coupe trunk lid and bumper cover...they are cheap enough.

One thing I have noticed at idle I get a slight blip on the tach and a gurgle sound which could be a backfire at the exhaust. Not real loud, but perceptible. I keep thinking it might be missing slightly. But can't hear anything from the engine bay. Are there certain failures which don't cause a cel? Will try pulling codes again to see if I get anything. Any thoughts appreciated.

Nice day yesterday. Pulled the interior and vacuumed and cleaned the carpet. Never lasts, but at least it started clean..

Been dealing with a blowing fuse for the last few days...finally found the culprit wires last night tucked up in the trunk lid...still not clear why BMW doesn't do harnesses the way 911's do...the car has unwrapped wires all over the place...

Have had the SRS light on since I put the car back together...finally learned to use my SRS code reader I bought on here a year ago...and it pointed to the seat belt latch. 100 ohm resistor placed in the connecteor under the seat fixed the problem (documented on another BMW site). amazing how hard it is to find a single 100 ohm resistor any where around here...had to buy a pack of 10...if anyone needs one I have 9 more sitting around.

Nice work! I went through that on my old m3, wish I knew about the resistor then.

Couple of times after a good rain the car has failed to start. Will turn over but not start. Vice just starting to swap out parts any idea of a good place to start looking. I pulled the brain but that area seems perfectly dry. No cel. Any thoughts appreciated. Tia.
