Progress is being made.
First pass is almost complete. Looks like only pitting and small pinpoint penetrations that can be welded. No evidence of prior accidents or even dents. Time frame is to have it stripped, minor metal work, and prepped for primer by mid-January for the tub. Then he'll work on all the other parts. My guess is painted by March/April (2019).

Ready for primer and block sanding. Should be back in my garage in 3-4 weeks then he can work on the hood, doors, deck lids, ect separately. Progress!

You're keeping the original color, right?

Question for the collective.
Drivers side front fender is the only area that has any real perforation of the metal. It is in the lower dog leg. I have a fender from a 1977 911 (Minerva Blue even) from Kurt (remember his 'lightness' 911, it was off that one) that is in better shape. Should I: 1) Totally replace the original fender with the other good used fender. 2) Cut off the lower dog leg from the other good used fender and use it to repair the original fender thus keeping as much original metal as possible. I can see the issue both ways but am leaning towards option 2. I am not usually stuck on a decision but I think I need some sage advice, and smarta$$ too.

I'm no body repair expert, but I have watched a ton of car repair shows on TV. If that is the total extent of the rust damage, why not simply cut out the rotted metal, and fab in a repair panel, or 2, to weld into place. If this isn't something you want to tackle on your own, I daresay that taking the fender to a competent body/restoration shop, might result is reasonably priced estimate. This way you still have a viable replacement fender if ever needed in the future.

If both fender are the same I would use the better one.
