Feh, Been beating the crap out of a Husky set of open box since they started selling them. Dirt cheap fit fasteners well and feel good in the hand. Proto 3/8 and 1/4 ratchets feel good in the hand, small heads, easy to reverse in the hand and bulletproof. 1/2 ratchets are best left to bigger is better. My big stuff is all off brand so I can abuse it as still sleep well. Grind to fit, weld to adapt. Impact sockets? Two sets of Horrible fright and 0 issues. Beat the living crap out of a 19mm deep for 25 years. Only reason for the 2 sets of deep and standard is they seem to wander off. Never broke, side split or cammed out a no name impact socket. I am abusive too. Stuck big ass nut or bolt? Weld the right no name socket to a 6 foot bar and “unstick it”. Once done cut the socket off, grind the weld smooth and put it back in the Hanson rack.
Torx and other sintered metal forgings and swivel heads are best left to $$$ brands.

And there is nothing that can describe the feel of an old old tool that has a long known history when it is in your hand. I have a few in normal day to day use that slide into my hands and feel like they are almost magnetic. A set of flat face nippers that was old when my grandfather acquired them still is my go to for hard snap like cuts on hardened nails, screws and bolt tails that stick out.
Kline linesman pliers are a close second to Crescent brand slip joint pliers for a single tool that can do much. $40 for the 9 inch hard cut and worth every cent. Strip insulation from phone to aluminum service wire and sharp, clean, tight cuts to stranded aircraft cable in the same tool.

I really like mine. I used this on my BMW many years ago to get the stubborn phillips head bolts off the rotor. Beating it with a hand impact did absolutely nothing. One quick blast with the shake n break and the bolts were out. The only down side is you need to have room for the 3/4" wrench to apply the torque.

My uncle who taught me most of my mechanical skills was a very competent machinist and jack of a trades. He used to tell me if you have to put more pressure on a bolt than you think it should need, you need to "wake 'em up" by wacking them with the 2 lb hammer and put some heat to make them "uncomfortable where they have lived for the past umpteen years." (not really sure how long umpteen is but its a long time) I suspect this gadget not only wakes them up but stops their heart causing them to release their grip....

FWIW, this type of impact screwdriver can also help with some stuck bolts. Just needs a hammer to whack it.

Speaking of "mid-level" stuff, I have one of these in the garage and recently got another one for the basement shop because I like them so much:
This is a 6" digital caliper from iGaging I got from Amazon for about $50. So not the generic $12 stuff from HF and not a $150-$200 Mitutoyo. Worth it over the cheapies because: 1. Takes a CR2032 instead of the small LR44 batteries and it LASTS. IME the cheap ones will drain the battery in a week or two, so I started pulling the battery out between uses. This one? Leave the battery in all the time and it lasts about a year, year and a half. That alone is worth the money. 2. Absolute origin. Doesn't get accidentally reset to some random new zero because your fat old man fingers hit the wrong button in the middle of a measurement. So you can zero them at different openings to do relative measurements, but then you hold the zero button down for 5 sec and it goes back to the original, closed jaw origin (without having to close and re-zero them).

That looks like the one I have but not with those markings. I'm not sure mine does #2, I'll have to try it.
