Looking for Porsche Parts
Been awhile since I posted. But I am determined to get my 1986 Carrera Coupe back on the road. It has been hibernating in my garage since Covid started, and I would like to get it running again. In the past I was able to get parts from Automotion, but when I called them today to get current catalog, they are only dealing in Mercedes parts and have dropped the Porsche parts business. Long story short, where are you getting parts for older Porsches, other than the dealer? Please let me know. Thank you...

Rose Passion has been a good source for some parts. The exchange rate for a while was in our favor. Delaware Porsche was also another good source. Pricing was usually cheaper than other similar sites. Most of what I ordered from them came from Germany so there was a couple week shipping delay.

Do not forget Delaware Porsche as their margins are better than Sunset or Porsche Marin. Look at any part number and you will find this true.
https://www.delawareporscheparts.com/ No tax and no waiting for things to ship across the country and because P does not drop ship from their warehouses you are often waiting for something to go across from the east only to come back to you. Porsche Silver Spring has good margins as well and probably equivalent to Sunset. Bigger items are better to pick up locally.

^Thats a good list
I buy a ton of parts from Rock Auto, good comparison pricing and you pick the brand you want. Limited selection sometimes but always worth a look. FCP Euro is my other goto, more focused and a good customer service.

In addition to the comprehensive list Bill posted above
These guys often have the best local price and offer pickup to save on shipping. https://www.getporschesilverspringparts.com/ I have found that it is hit or miss when shopping dealerships and they often have wide pricing for the same parts online. It really pays to shop around every time!

Greetings everyone,
It's been a while since I last posted, but I'm determined to breathe life back into my 1986 Carrera Coupe. Since the onset of Covid, it's been quietly resting in my garage, and now, I'm eager to get it back on the road. In the past, I relied on Automotion for parts, but a recent call revealed they've shifted their focus solely to Mercedes parts, leaving my Porsche in need. In the spirit of brevity, I'm reaching out to the Porsche community for advice. Where do you source parts for your older Porsches, aside from the dealership? Any recommendations or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences and expertise. Thank you.
