I ordered direct from Bendpak and they found an installer for me, SGS services out of Manassas. Small outfit owner and a helper. Since I live in MD, Manassas is about 90 mins away. Bendpak shipped to terminal outside of Baltimore. SGS picked up from freight terminal, delivered, and installed for a really good price. This was the first GP7LC they had installed. But they've done all kinds for over 20 years. Thats what they told me. I was happy with their work.

Quick, tangentially related question:

When I talked with BendPak, they said that they didn't do shims that work on a garage floor built to code (I think it was 5 degrees of slope at code, and they only authorized shims to 3 degrees of slope) in Alexandria. Have any of you run into issues with this on a 2 post? I figure I'm a couple of months away from ordering one for my garage, and figured that since the topic has come up, I might as well see what the crowd thought.

So is that a 'no' to shims-only, or a 'no' to shimming and then packing with grout?

My carport slab slope is ~1/8 inch per foot so I did not give slope much thought when I purchased my BendPak a while back (it is still not installed).

Shim and properly grout with the right stuff is SOP. Too much slope can cause issues with the arms dragging on the uphill side and being tall on the downhill side

Bend-pac might be in CYA mode.

The sales rep just refused to talk, and went into full-on prick mode when I asked, and said that the Atlas guys told me it wouldn't be a problem. I dunno. I figured that it wasn't that big of a deal, but who knows? At this point, I'm leaning toward not buying from them just because I don't really want to give them any money after that interaction, so...

Skip the sales person and call a tech person at HQ.

Spent a few weeks going down the Mohawk route. Nicest lift I have seen. Tried to buy one BUT the sales rep tells me 4000 psi concrete required. I verified with the factory, they use an anchor bolt (didn't say which one) that requires 4000. Thickness of the concrete doesn't matter (I have 6"), its the anchor bolt design. And the factory will not warranty with any other style bolts. Not even a Hilti epoxy anchor...

So, guess its a Challenger CLFP9. Any comments before I pull the trigger?

I skipped the Bendpak route because the factory wanted a liability waiver just to refer me to a dealer/installer. I called SGS (from above) a few times but never heard back from them. Did anyone else get the liability waiver from Bendpak before they would talk to you?
