The internet needs to be justified. I'll remember that.

The internet is run by the man; you always need to pay the man. Or move to Montana and live in a wood hut.

see, I'm one of those internet hippies "let the internet be free!" The US giving up is a good step in the right direction (linky ). So even on the boards I'm often on, i dont feel that i need to donate money for them to survive. Its NOT the money from the forum goers that keeps a forum alive, its the fact that there ARE people that are on the forums. The more people the more the forum will stay around and profit. All in all, you can support a forum like rennlist really really well for 200-500 a month.

I dont know, maybe i need to change my outlook on the internet.

You will garner more profit from sellng your stuff on Rennlist than if you did not have access to the many Rennlisters. What it the rub in paying some to advertise your stuff on someone elses site? It is not your site and you don't have to pay to get or add info or chat but if you want to also profit you are asked to throw down some pocket change.

Can you sell for free on PP?

It's only $17. Besides, that $17 also opens up the member-to-member classifieds and, that vast miasma of information, the OT section.

Pelican can allow free advertising because they charge an arm and a leg for parts, which is their bread and butter. Rennlist does not sell anything directly. It's all through sponsors. I've definitely gotten my membership money's worth of info and used parts from Rennlist. Gotta pay to play.

I ponied up the membership fee on Rennlist last year just for access to the Classifieds. The funny thing is I never go there now...
Either way, I like to think my $$ is going toward supporting a good cause (a helpful Porsche BBS) .

If you sold the stuff on ebay it you cost you more then $17 in fee's. Rennlist will save you money in the long run. If I intend to use a service, then I pay.

Another way to look at it, $17 is 5 gallons of gas, now who are your really being ripped off from now!!!

I say suck it up. Think about what you get out of Rennlist in advice, and amusement in OT for your money. I got more out fo Rennlist than I ever did from PCA !
