Not sure what you mean here? But I've changed the bushes in ~10 couplers for myself and others and never brock one yet

So my fuch up was probably my receiver socket was too large and was pressing on the coupler. If I press just on the bushing I won't be such a failure or do you cut out the bushing?

Size does matter. As I’m sure you heard many times before, though prolly the other way.
Shouldn't have to cut anything. So do you still need the new bushes or have you got a set?

Lucky sent me a set at a very fair price. Now that I busted the coupler, I should have paid you $135 to install while I drank beer, watched, and learned.

Very nervously I did it. I considered just putting in the new assembly as is since Porschefest is approaching, but I could not resist. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back! The Baron is sporting new bronze at the pedals and new brass at the shifter!

Now you really do have a pair of brass ones... in the shifter tunnel, anyway.
