If you are referring to the tire repair method mentioned in the above post, no it is not.

Just to close the loop here.
As a pilot and flight instructor, I always strive to reduce risk.
So in keeping with that goal, I bought a new tire and will keep the plugged one for street use only, if it is needed in the future.

Well done sir. All of your peers on track appreciate you mitigating the risk.

Funny thing...
The reason for the T plug format requirement is in large part to keep water from getting into the carcass and damaging the steel belting over time. This is not a track tire issue as they become worn out at a very accelerated rate. Plug, track scrub to the cords over a weekend is the safest format for a nail hole.

If you have any doubts about the tire repair discard the tire. DE is for fun and if you are thinking about a tire you are not thinking about fun.

Me? I am thinking about the 5672 nuts, bolts, con rods, struts, tubes, wires, connectors, pistons, rings, E-clips, push rods and all other parts that I selected and assembled to make up the machine I am in. Sucks to be a highly visual mechanic. No farking way would i get in my own helicopter. Choppers are trying to get back on the ground and not all on one chunk.....

There's a lot in this thread that would be at home in the "new tool" thread! Topic is a fav and even a little search will produce lots of opinion. I'll go with what Paul says and he is an authorized Michelin man.
