I'm looking for a good 915 SC/Carrera transmission housing, especially the bell housing. May buy the complete transmission if needed.

The housing of the 915 from the green 911 has a crack in the bell housing.

Please let me know what you got.

I got a Tig. Bell housing can be welded if you don’t find a replacement.

I have a magnesium 915/40 bell housing section from when I converted to electric speedo. How bad is the crack in the housing?

Looks like it's not really a crack.



I found some posts in the Pelican forum, with pictures of identical "cracks"

It's almost impossible that the crack would be exact the same.

I will try to polish it out and dye check it as soon I got some new dye check in.

Here is what it looks like after sanding of a bit.

I will check it also with dye check just to be sure.

You are not the first to think their pressure sand casting was cracked. Saved yourself a couple bucks and time rebuilding a trans.
