Matt De Maria is a master with these engines - not right around the corner from you but he'll get it right. Or you could put in a 3.2 (or a 3.6!).

Have screwed with the little adjustment valve and I know it is not in my skills to do this correctly. Better to have it done right to ensure the engine runs properly.
Matt is the man with these motors. Before that my 2 cents is to spend some quality time with a smoke machine. Airbox, injector seals, vac hoes, intake boots... lots of opportunities to leak and drive you nuts. Once its buttoned up tight make adjustments.

Thanks. Actually a couple of years ago I refreshed all the seals, boots etc. I feel like it is pretty tight. But let’s see what happens..

Well have been playing with engine today. Got it fired up and running. It’s Miller time. Never doubted it would run. Yes!

Car battery not getting a charge. Looks like a voltage regulator (external regulator) or alternator replacement in the near future. Need to research a bit to understand how the alternator works. I found a tech advisory recommending putting the vr internal to the alternator. May just try that also.

Wheel stud question: how much thread for the lug bolt is required beyond the wheel in order to be safe.

The car will sit on 7 and 9 Fuchs. I installed 72mm lugs. I put one and 1/4 inch spacer in the front and back and have about 1/2 inch of thread sticking out without being torqued. Is that enough thread to be safe? Hate to live out my occasional dream where all my wheels go flying off as I hit 100 on a lonely back road..smile.

You want some thread sticking out past the end of each lug nut.

Thanks Kurt. My lug nuts are the enclosed kind but I will put some of the open ones on to see how far it goes through.
