Default New member intro with 77 911 targa

I'm the guy who purchased Karl's 77 targa a few months ago. Name is Jim, I'm a Virginia native and I've always wanted a Porsche...blah,blah, blah.

Grew up wrenching on VW Beetles, then BMW 2002's and now the 911.

Some pics
Day I bought it from Karl

First daytime drive

In my garage next to my 69 BMW 2002 (under restoration)

First project was replacing the old alternator with a rebuilt Bosch unit

While I had it apart, I cleaned and painted the fan and housing.

Swapped the Nardi wood wheel for this later wheel

Changed the shifter and tunnel bushings to new factory short shifter mechanism with new bushings.

Power washed the bottom while it was raining

Added this missing bracket to the deck lid

Met up with some other BMW friends for a long drive last weekend starting in Aldie/Middleburg

Car runs great. Glad to finally be a P-car owner.

Thanks Karl- how many miles have you put on the 911 and GT4? Wait - something is missing from your signature

This guy Ed showed up with a fist full of dead presidents and I sold the 911SC. Used the money for the kids tuition, although I have my eye on a 964 Cab.

The GT4 on the other hand has a bout 250 miles and it's just fun 😀

That's a good looking 911S, enjoy!
