I have a few that constantly peck at their reflections in the basement and sliding porch doors. Funny to watch, but they do leave their marks.

My first thought, but no nest. Plus they are sitting on fender closes to carport wall, not facing outward.

Not totally heartless as we are already supporting a morning dove nest on wheel stash between house and garage. But then the doves aren't shiteing on L's DD!!!

Left car out to take advantage of nature's car wash today.... little buggers still wanted to sit on drovers side front fender!

I know Kurt already said plastic owls don't work....

I got one off the shelf at Home Depot for less than $20 with a head that rotates in the breeze.

Seems to have stopped the birds from trying to build a nest on our side yard shed. Of course, the birds may have just found greener pastures elsewhere...

Hire one of these. On call 24/7 and accept food as compensation. Plus they can live outside; theyre like greenskeepers at golf courses. They do more than just birds too. Can be super effective.

the movement might be a helper. There is some good study on what does repel pests and one thing was shown overall across the methods that static devices don't work. Even some of the active measures that have some value such as recordings of hawk calls and glittery wind powered devices fade away over time. The critters seem to figure out that someone is crying wolf. Movement / sound are key components and active measures that are put in a rotation tend to maintain more value. Left long enough the device ends up being sat on. I used to have a hella fight at a big warehouse with starlings roostin' and crappin'. lots of bird netting and spray foam to block the favored landing spots helped for a few years but it was always a back and forth. Last year a Coopers hawk moved into the area and started picking the starlings off one by one and right out of the air. Now I have to flush the hawk out of the building now and then but he is a far cry better than 200 starlings. watching him dive in and snatch a starling right out of the air is well worth having some starlings around. I almost want to remove some of the netting on the now covered favored nesting areas.

Forgot to add. Another thing to keep in mind that was found is that animals see their predators differently than we do. Something that looks realistic to a human might not trigger the flight response from the target pest.

Some consider that animal to be the most damaging invasive pest in the environment worldwide.

I do and thankfully the foxes, coyotes and my BB gun had kept them at bay lately! Buzz on neighborhood blog is how so many "beloved cats" have gone missing in the last couple of years

Will see about setting something that moves and makes some noise on the hood. Moving it between car and bench has t be easier than cleaning up car, door and carport!!!

As someone who enjoys listening to chirping birds, I am on their side. After all, any parking in a carport and complains about bird pooping is like walking on the beach with your shoes on and complaining of getting sand in them.

Just hose the cars, boy O
