Is the August 20th Wineo Tech date still on? We could add it to the Calendar!

Spent many hours over night flying low and slow over orchards to keep the frost off. Could raise temps sometimes by 10 deg F if a good inversion!!

This weekend Antonio's was gracious enough to take time out from the construction to give us a sneak peek the family's winery! Looks like a great spot for a future drive & dine destination.

Here's some photos of how its coming along.

The vines about three years old now, and doing very well for the age. About 8-9 acres are planted right now with much more room to grow.

Here you can see the careful stone work to the rear entrance, and the guys working as they build the back patio stairs. The plan is to have a tasting room open to the public regardless if the main hall is rented out at all times. A full kitchen is also under construction.

The main hall is complete with a stage, and the scarey stairs to the loft. (Railings will be installed Antonio promises.)

From the loft you can see everything. The main tasting room, looks like they're getting ready to be surrounded.

The place is going to be beautiful! And of course the money shot!

A big thank you to Antonio and his father-in-law José for taking the time out to show us around! The grand opening is planned for mid-June. They are the first I've encountered in Virginia who will be growing the touriga nacional grape from their native Portugal. This is the small red grade which is used in Port wine. Looking forward to tasting it!

WOWx2!

Looks beautiful! I think someone needs to start working on an official label for the first vintage of DORKI wine.
