Default wings and wing extended uprights

ok

crazy is setting in

i started out the season only wanting 18 wheels, more camber, and a lower car

that is done!

with all events cancelled or postponed i am wondering if buying the fresh nt01 tires was a waste of money

but maybe i can make it to an autocross or two before seasons end

and perhaps i can do more to the car - like a splitter and wing!

i am considering the composite concepts "gt4" carbon fiber wing

but i have a question for those of you that have such wings on your track cars

are the upright extensions a good thing, or not?

comments would be appreciated

Bman’s Cayman uses a Getty wing and splitter obtainable I think through BGB Motorsports in Florida. I always thought it was the best looking and actually functional “real” wing for our cars.

i aspire to be like bman but it is a little more than i am willing to spend

the composite concepts wing is more cost effective at around $1000 and i am sure it has some down force

i belive it is the same wing dan dazzo put on his 987

i am also considering just a duck tail enhanced replacement for the stock pop up wing from TWL but that is about the same price as the composite concepts wing

i do like the TWL splitter

Hi Otto, might have missed, but are you going to be trailering or driving on street? That can make a big difference on splitters and unwanted attention on the street!!

Dirk
interesting point, but I have not heard of anyone being a target because of a wing on the car

I guess I could see where a high mounted wing could grab too much attention, is that what you are saying?

FWIW, with enlarged splitter and lowered suspension, getting the car on & off a trailer might be challenging. Either need longer ramps to reduce approach angle, or an easily removable splitter.

Yes, and as Hoodpin says lowered and splitter can be a problem both loading on trailer and on street.
