I just picked up 6 lights for the garage. Wow are they bright. I can see out there now.
Thanks for the heads up

Don't look at the mess ,I had to move stuff around to run wires for the outlets in the ceiling for the lights. I promise to clean up my mess

I ordered 5 sets of 2. I haven't mounted them yet, but did plug one in to take a look. The housing is a little flimsy, all plastic, but it is a light, it just stays mounted to the ceiling. I have about 10-8 foot standard florescent fixtures to replace. we will see how it turns out. Should put out more light where I need it.

There are some great threads on garagejournal.com about this topic that I would highly recommend. I referenced them when laying out my tiny garage. It's important to design the switching design to allow you to tune the light provided to the task (just enough light to put the garbage in the can, enough to get in the car and drive away, enough to do general work in the garage, and enough to do detail work at a table or next to a car). There can be too much light which leads to eye strain over long periods of time. There's like a whole science and everything.

I still haven't finished my garage but at least I now know not to buy high-bay lights for my 10' garage ceiling. Still waiting for the nirvana of color-accurate LEDs in the affordable range. May have to build my own for counter lighting.

Accurate to what? Planckian Radiation?

In your search, are you considering fidelity and gamut indexes within your target kelvin range? If so, you really need to consider color vector graphic and the value for each hue angle bin.
