Default Zinc Plating?!? Any local recommendations.

Hello, need a bit of hardware cleaned and plated. Does anyone have suggestions of a local to DC/Baltimore shop?

Thanks,
Casey

Both my old go to shops are gone. Both were ship and return but good.

I do my own in house. Once set up you can get good results but not worth it for a part or two. There are some DIY kits available that don’t expose you to hex chrome.

I used kustom kare plating about a year ago. I cleaned everything and dropped it off. Turn around was about a week. No parts lost. They were pretty easy to work with. I would get everything you plan on replating done at one time to make it cost efficient. I’ve done multiple batch’s with them. 1lb cost the same as 5 lbs as you will not meet the minimum charge, so bring everything you have the first time.

I have used Kustom Kare and Marquis Zinc Plating in Dundalk MD. Marquis was faster and cheaper but make sure your parts are in really good shape if you go to Marquis as they just plate and don't do surface prep.

I've used KustomKare (Dave) 4 or 5 times. Fast turnaround, reasonable pricing, and no parts lost (dozens & dozens of 993 control arm bushing sleeves).
