Also heard good things about the Yoko Advan A052 but no personal experience.

toyo r1r comes in 225/45 if a little less sidewall is an option. fronts in 205/50

Yes - They're less streetable than the RA-1, IMHO - softer, and less tread for dealing with rain. Quite a good track tire, and I believe used by some of the NASA classes that require a spec tire.

The biggest tire I think that will fit are 205.'s and thats with maxed out negative camber in the rear and a little rubbing in the front (rub on the inside). matched tires on all 4 corners for me made for a balanced car (controlled under and over stear).

Might not be super performance oriented but I did get a set of vredestien summer tires. They grip pretty well for 72 hp.
