What is the name for this clip?
What is the name for this type of clip? I am missing a couple from the front end of my 951, where the "bat wing" attaches.

Lolz. My dad use to call them Jesus clips.. cause when they'd spring off you'd say "Jesus, where'd that go!"

A couple of versions of U nuts. Fixed and floating. Porsche used mostly floating. The nut is square and trapped in a box on the U clip. This lets the nut adjust a bit when the bolt is being inserted. It also lets the little nut retainer rust then break under under stress leaving the nut to spin around while you try and remove the bolt.
U clips are like a U nut but rather than formed threads there is a punched and formed hole in the spring steel. They are intended for screws.

Mark, I may have a few laying around if you're in a dire situation. If not most of the well-known parts suppliers carry them. Buy extras....

Thanks all for the info. I had come across an official parts diagram of the front end that did not show these particular fasteners. Now I have found one that does. They are cheap enough that I ordered a stash. Figured that might be easier than trying at Autozone. At least I have proper words for them now!
