Default 944 Belt Tension Tool

VaSteve and I are trying to tension new belts on my S2 and the Krikit tool is useless becausse of the auto chain tensioner is in the way! Anyone in the Manassas area have the Porsche 9201(?) tensioning tool we can use?

What do you folks do with these fancy belt-tensioner cars? Some folks say don't pretension, some do. Doublemint had an 86 and then an 84 engine and I haven't needed to do this job on my new car yet. I'm using Kory's as a learning opportunity.

Is this your way of politely asking if you can borrow someone else's tool?!? Your post makes it same as if it's your right to take it, although I'm sure that's not how you meant it to sound...

I thought the tool, it's use and where to get one has been covered before. Come on VaMan use search. You can dig up the strangest old threads when you want!!!

Still need to tension the balance shafts belt even if you have the late model with integral cam tensioner.

Yeah, but the balance shaft, you can do with the Kricket tool. And if you don't get it quite right, it sounds like a bitchin turbo.

Hmm I don't remember checking balance shaft belt tension after 1200 miles. I did do my timing belt though.

Oh well, the car runs good.
